A Deeper Look at What We Are About
OUR STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Faith Church exists to introduce people to Jesus Christ, provide a climate for spiritual growth and nurture believers to be more like Christ.
ABOUT THE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Matthew 28:19 embraces our core values, it is there that Jesus said “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.”
In Matthew 5:16, Jesus says “let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds (character and actions) and praise your Father in heaven.” God gives us purpose in allowing our lives to be light to others thus introducing them to Him.
We do that with the help of his Spirit and the Bible, “…the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26) Centered in a climate that is both casual and caring, our teaching is based in the Bible and led by His Spirit but is more than just knowledge — it directs us toward our third core value.
As his followers we are to pattern our life after His. The Bible instructs us to not only be hearers but doers of what we know and hear (James 2:22) and to be committed to practicing it in our daily lives. “I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice- the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you… don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” (Romans 12:1,2)
